I FUCKING LOVE GHOST MOUNTAIN THATS MY GOAT

Sematary and the Haunted Mound have been such an enigma in my listening journey. I remember when I first like got awakened to how much music there really was past Logic and Twenty One Pilots, Sematary was brought up early. My first introduction to Sematary was a Hivemind behind the scenese video where they showed Sebii Slaughter House and it was kind of shown as like a joke. My first thoughts were about the obvious Chief Keef inspiration, hes literally the blue print for the Haunted Mounds whole sound and aesthetic. The second thought I had was "Wow this kind of sucks. It's funny and I want to hear more."

It was a little later into my listening that I really gave Sematary another chance, I really respected the whole aesthetic and vibe they gave off. Sampling heavy metal, shoegaze and throwing crazy trap beats over it, the lyrical content referencing classic horror movies and demonic imagery. The best part about it, they really live like that. Sematary lived out of an out of business slaughter house he bought and turned into a home. Many of their songs were produced, sang, mix and mastered in the same room they used to shoot and edit their music videos. All done by memebers of the Haunted Mound.

The respect I had for the Haunted Mound made me want to keep listening, some songs really hit more than others. Mainly songs that stuck with me were featuring Ghost Mountain. There weren't many, but as I searched I found two whole albums and an EP Sematary and Ghost Mountain made together. This had me so confused, so after doing my researched I found Sematary and Ghost Mountain had a disagreement, the latter wanting to live a different life than what Sematary envisioned for the Haunted Mound. I wasn't there for this time, I'm unsure how deep the beef ran, but these albums were taken off from streaming services.

After some more "ironic listening" I really started to like the songs and the universe that came from the Haunted mound. I bought a Haunted mound flag and T-shirt. I was so gone it was too deep. Not long after I found Haunted Mound fans on twitter that had whole accounts dedicated to Nazi propaganda shit. I wasn't too suprised the whole sound definetely attracts these types of people. After some more searching I found tweets of Sematary denouncing these fans, old lyrics such as "nazi skulls gon shatter" and even a video of Sematary kicking out a fan at his show for wearing a MAGA hat.

I was so fucking hooked at this time, still my favorite songs being the ones that featured Ghost Mountain. Then recently, Ghost Mountain dropped a song Apollon and holy fucking shit that was fucking awesome. He freaking returned. Almost 4 years gone and he came back with a contender for song of the year 2024. The music video all directed by him and the softer beat produced by Oscar18 an Irish producer for the Haunted Mound. Actually beautiful like life has been so much better since Ghost Mountain returned (not really but music has gotten better)

gonna leave this one at a cliff hanger just like my bladee one because i should go to sleep but please listen to that ghost mountain album and the two rereleases they just dropped

I don't even know where to start with Reserv, the beginning would probably be the most optimal start but I don't remember when I first heard a Reserv song. Probably just searching for new artists in my "hyperpop" phase.

I don't want this one to be like my Bladee post I will try to only talk about the album and what it actually means to me. So wish me luck

The Skylines Consume You is like if the genre of emo music (yeah I know real broad term) made love to 16 bit video game music. There's the whiny emo vocals with the sadder song topics about relationships plastered over a bouncy pop background or a sad piano ballad, both of which you could see behind an old nintendo game about saving the universe.

The opening track promptly titled The Skylines Consume You perfectly backs up my previous statement. It leads in with this echoey soft piano and Reserv establishes himself with a loud intro yelling almost pleading in a way the first lyrics of "Take your focus off my skin, to the place we both remember". Personally I don't know what he was getting at here, but to me these lyrics beg the recipient to take their mind of the present moment and think back to a time when they broke up or ending things together. This is further acknowledged by the line "And I know, when we wrote those final words, We never would have thought they'd last forever". This kind of shows me that Reserv is struggling thinking about that moment. Reserv almost admits he didn't really mean it, he didnt know it would last forever.

I could endlessly write about each one of these songs but each one is just as loveable as the last. I really reccomend everyone listen to this album and Reserv's discog and quite honestly I dont think there is a single song under an 8/10

This isnt so much a review but more of a love letter to bladee and his music (12:54AM 4/14/25)

my first experience to bladee was his track Be Nice 2 Mein mid 2021, and with a background of the "2016 soundcloud rap" being my middle school soundtrack the catchy beat caught my attention. Once his vocals began it really started to put me off and i honestly disregarded the song for a while. After more mention of his name I decided to take another listen, this time I listened to his album The Fool that released in may of 2021 and thats where it all really began.

The Fool and its goofy ass tracks like Hotel Breakfast totally caught me by suprise and this swedish rapper whos pushing 30 was slowly bleeding into my daily rotation. It really was the goofiness and overall pop sound that stood out to me. I continued to pretty much just stick to The Fool until Amygdala released in early 2022. Throughout this time my music taste had vastly widened and Amygdala perfectly fit into that range and was pretty much my anthem for like a whole month. There are reports of people walking by me in the halls just hearing Ecco2k moan in my earbuds.

After the Amygdala craze, Bladee fully clicked for me. I'd go the whole school day just hitting play on Bladee's spotify page not skipping a single song. This went on for quite a while, and as I got well versed on Bladee my music taste yet again began to expand and eventually Bladee began to fade a little. Bladee never went out of daily rotation but room was made for different artists.

Due to spotify's weird algorithms I was never reccomended Bladee's earlier albums Gluee and Eversince and it wasn't until recently that I decided it was time to go back and check them out. There is no one in the world that can convince me Deletee (Intro) off of Gluee isn't a song sent by god himself. Everything from the beat to the heavily autotuned vocals just click. A listen to this song can transmit you to a different place one way more freeing than wherever the fuck you are now. Thaiboy Digital's verse just puts the nail in the coffin (shoutout to the word Goon usage before it had its meaning now). This sound was not being done at this time, Bladee was in his own world. The rest of the album doesn't exactly live up to the expectations of the intro track, but in Gluee's defense its quite hard to follow up perfection.

I now own 2 Bladee vinyls and a couple T-shirts. I have Eversince and 333 on vinyl but I've been looking for Icedancer to get my collection to where I really want to, maybe I'll make a post with a photo and a paragraph on each of the vinyls I own.
